I grew up in Dearborn, Michigan — the birthplace of Henry Ford and the automotive industry — where after high school, ironically enough — I took a job at Greenfield Village and the Henry Ford Museum driving draft horses while giving narrated tours of the outdoor portion of the museum. So graphics has not been my only career.

I graduated from Meredith Manor in Waverly, WV with an associates degree in Equestrian Studies and worked on Thoroughbred breeding and training farms in Lexington, KY and Ocala, FL, as a groom and exercise rider. My biggest thrill was grooming and exercising a son and daughter of Secretariat. I’ve also ridden hunter/jumpers, lower level dressage and played both arena and outdoor polo.

I later followed my dad into the print graphics industry doing typesetting and paste-up (yes I’m dating myself here) and eventually graphic design utilizing Pagemaker, QuarkXPress and later Adobe Creative Suite for print design on a Mac . Some of the corporations I’ve worked for include Valassis Inserts (Sunday paper coupon inserts), AM General Corporation (as in the Humm half of Humm & Dune) and locally with the American College of Physician Executives and HealthPlan Services. In between all of that I earned my Florida RE license. I had my own freelance business for about 8 years doing graphic design for small mom and pop businesses, all the way up to large corporations such as Raymond James.

In my spare time I still enjoy trail riding in Seminole as a member of the Walsingham Horsemen’s Association and I help the club with activities such as keeping trails clear and providing horse/pony rides to children (and adults!) in the community. My husband and I have two dogs, Calypso and Mango (think Jimmy Buffett’s Last Mango in Paris) and yes, we are both avid Buffett fans and members of the Tampa Bay Parrottheads. FINS UP!
